About me

I am a solutions focused clinician who holds space for others to talk about life’s difficulties and helps them navigate in meaningful ways. I aim to make the therapeutic space a comfortable space where clients can express themselves freely and without judgment. I have experience working with children and adolescents in the public school setting as a School Social Worker as well as an Outpatient Therapist in private practice.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, I will introduce myself, my background, my approach and session frequency. We will also go discussion personal history, why you are in therapy and possibly complete assessments together. This allows me to get a better picture of areas you are hoping to work on, how to best address them and to get to know you as a person.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I can sit back and hold space but will also challenge my clients when needed. Validation and offering a different perspective can be helpful.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with children and teens addressing concerns such as anger management, peer and interpersonal relationship difficulties, self-esteem, self-harm, grief, and experiences related to acute psychiatric hospitalization. Your teen will learn tools to quiet their inner critic, manage stress, and navigate complicated social circles. Goals with previous clients focused on building self-compassion, improving communication, helping them confidently advocate for themselves both at school and at home, handling school pressure, navigating messy friendship drama, and learning how to quiet their mind so you can feel comfortable in your own skin.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, it usually feels like your brain is constantly lying to you or assuming the absolute worst is about to happen. That gets exhausting fast. We use CBT to basically untangle that mess. Instead of just sitting there talking about your childhood, we look at the thoughts that are ruining your mood or making you want to avoid school and friends. We’ll figure out how to catch those thoughts, see if they’re actually true, and practice small shifts to help you feel less overwhelmed and more in control.

Motivational Interviewing

We’ll talk through the things you actually want to change, look at what’s holding you back, and figure out your own reasons for moving forward—on your terms and at your own pace.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

It’s just about learning how to press pause. We will practice simple ways to notice when your brain is starting to spiral into future worries or get stuck on past drama, and bring you back to the present moment so you don't feel so overwhelmed by your own thoughts

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

We focus on what is actually working in your life, what your goals look like, and the strengths you already have. We’ll figure out small, realistic steps you can take today to start changing things, so you can get relief and move forward

Strength-Based

Instead of just focusing on what is 'wrong' or broken, we will map out what you are already good at and what makes you who you are. We’ll use those exact strengths as tools to help you tackle the hard stuff, like anxiety, school stress, or feeling down, so you can build up your confidence.
