LCSW, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi there! My name is Kyle Shadrick, and I'm a practicing LCSW therapist in the state of TN. I'm passionate about helping people to catalyze positive change in their lives. I'm particularly passionate about trauma work, as well as working with LGBTQIA+ individuals. Other areas of experience include family of origin issues, stress management, anxiety, depression, and major life stressors. ***Important Notes: I only see adults at this time (no one under the age of 18), and am currently not able to meet with Vanderbilt University students via this platform.***
Our first session will include a comprehensive history taking, as well as exploration of presenting concerns. The following session will then focus on goal-setting and treatment planning based on the presenting concerns.
I bring a collaborative and inquisitive energy to therapy. I hope to encourage development of greater insight into habits and inner workings by fostering a spirit of curiosity. I attempt to balance being skills-based, goals-oriented, and exploratory. I'm trained in practicing Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Solutions Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I hope that clients can leave sessions with new skills, as well as greater insight into their behaviors and relationships. I also hope to help clients develop a better understanding of their past, in order to grow more intentional in the present. I'm big on values work, mindfulness skills, and trauma-informed care.
