New to Grow
Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families providing counseling. If you're reading my profile, you're here for a reason. Maybe you're feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, grieving, struggling in a relationship, adjusting to a major life change, or simply trying to make sense of something that's happening in your life right now. Whatever brought you here, I bring both clinical experience and real world understanding to help you sort through it. My style is warm, conversational, and practical. Therapy with me is not about being analyzed or judged. It's about having a real conversation with someone who wants to understand your experience, help you identify what's getting in the way, and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change. I work with adults, teens, and children, tailoring my approach to each person's needs, personality, and goals. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, my goal is to create a space where you feel understood and supported.
Many people come into their first therapy session feeling nervous, uncertain, or unsure where to begin. That's completely normal. Our first session is really a conversation. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, and what you'd like support with. Some people come in with a clear concern they want to address, while others simply know that something in their life isn't working the way they'd like it to. Both are okay. You don't need to prepare a speech or know exactly what to say. I'll help guide the conversation and ask questions along the way. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward. For children and teens, I adjust my approach based on age and personality. Younger children often communicate best through play, activities, and creativity, while older children and teens may prefer a more relaxed conversation.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my genuine curiosity about people. I have always been fascinated by people's stories, cultures, relationships, experiences, and the different ways they make sense of the world. Growing up in New York City gave me the opportunity to interact with people from many different backgrounds. As a teenager and young adult, I spent years riding the subway and observing people from every walk of life. Looking back, it felt like a social science laboratory. I learned that every person has a story, and most people are carrying experiences that aren't immediately visible to others. That curiosity has stayed with me throughout my career. I enjoy getting to know my clients as individuals rather than making assumptions based on diagnoses, labels, or circumstances. I ask questions, listen carefully, and work to understand not only what is happening in your life, but how you experience it. I combine clinical knowledge, life experience, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping people grow. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable talking with me because I am approachable, engaged, and easy to connect with. Whether we are exploring a challenge, developing new skills, or working toward a goal, I believe meaningful change begins with understanding your unique story.
My clients are often navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, stress, anxiety, grief, work-related pressures, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Some come with a clear goal, while others simply know something needs to change. They are looking for a therapist who is approachable, experienced, and willing to have honest conversations while helping them develop practical tools they can use in everyday life.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier ways of coping, and build practical skills that can be applied in everyday life. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique experiences and goals.
Grief is deeply personal, and there is no "right" way to heal. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can process the loss of a loved one, relationship, dream, or major life change. Together, we'll honor your experience, explore healthy ways to cope, and help you move forward while carrying your loved one or life experience in a meaningful way.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy helps us focus on your strengths, what's already working, and the goals you want to achieve rather than staying stuck in the problem. Together, we'll identify practical, achievable steps that build confidence and create meaningful change. This approach is ideal for clients seeking focused, goal-oriented support and tangible progress.
