(she/they)
Hi all! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in the state of Florida. I earned my Masters Degree from the University of Central Florida, and I've been practicing mental health therapy for 6 years. I truly enjoy helping adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, social issues, life transition, and racial and/ or gendered oppression.
In our first session together, we'll start with giving introductions and identifying your strengths. Then, we will discuss your current challenges so that we can develop a treatment plan together with goals for us to work towards throughout the following therapy sessions. I also like to use this time to answer any questions about to what to expect in therapy.
Throughout the past 6 years, I have been lucky enough to work with such a diverse population of adolescents and adults, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, houselessness, racialized-oppression, and gender dysphoria. This experience has helped me develop a number of creative, empowering, and client-centered techniques designed to help clients identify their current strengths, identify their current challenges, and develop plans that allow them to track measurable progress throughout sessions.
I truly enjoy working with adolescents & adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, social issues, oppressive issues, and other mental health issues. Over the last few years, I've been lucky enough to work with a diverse population of clients, including those experiencing mental health concerns, houselessness, racial oppression, and gender dysphoria. This has helped me develop a number of creative, client-centered, and community-centered techniques designed to help clients identify their current strengths & challenges, and to develop treatment plans that allow them to track progress throughout treatment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a treatment method that I enjoy using with my clients to help them identify distorted thought patterns, challenge negative thoughts, and gain awareness on how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors all impact each other. I love to do this in creative and collaborative ways that highlight my clients' existing strengths.
Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a treatment method that I enjoy using with my clients to help them develop skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I enjoy doing this in a structured and empowering way that helps my clients measure their progress throughout treatment.
EMDR
EMDR is a treatment method that I enjoy using with my clients to help them process and heal from their traumatic or distressing life experiences. This is a treatment approach that can be used even in telehealth sessions to help clients better cope with their symptoms.
Gender-affirming therapy
Gender-affirming therapy is a treatment method that I enjoy using with my clients to help them process and reduce feelings of gender dysphoria. I love doing this in ways that both empower and connect my clients to other gender-affirming resources within their communities.
Feminist
Feminist therapy is a treatment method that I enjoy using to help my clients better understand the social factors that may contribute to their mental-health concerns. I enjoy doing this by highlighting and building on their personal strengths, rather than pathologizing valid thoughts and feelings.
