Hello and Welcome to my practice! I am Sandhiya(pronounced Sun-thee-ya) Baladhandapani. I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) practicing in Pennsylvania. I have been working with individuals and families since 2019 after completing my Master’s at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I currently offer individual psychotherapy for young adults and adults struggling with: Anxiety, depressed mood and self-esteem challenges Grief and loss, including life transitions Relationship and family dynamics Work, academic, or cultural stressors Patterns that feel hard to change despite your best efforts My therapeutic style is psychodynamic and depth-oriented. This means that together, we will explore the deeper patterns that connect your past and present, and how they shape the way you experience yourself and others today. Over time, our work helps uncover deeper insights, resolve internal conflicts, and open space for lasting meaningful change with more intentional and empowered ways of living. The clients who benefit most from our work are those who take an active role in their therapy and willing to reflect on their experiences.
We will begin by getting to know your story, history, background, relationships, and what brings you to therapy now. I will also walk you through my practice policies and answer any questions for you. Most importantly, I will listen closely so we can clarify your goals and determine whether we are the right fit to work together.
Clients often describe me as straightforward, collaborative and genuine. I strive to create a space that can feel both supportive enough and appropriately challenging where you feel open to explore, yet encouraged to grow. My approach is grounded in empathy for the struggles that do not always have quick solutions. Our sessions can be immersive and reflective, helping you connect more meaningfully with your emotional experiences. As the therapeutic relationship deepens, clients find themselves facing their challenges with more clarity, strength, and able to navigate life with resilience and confidence.
Many of my clients come to me when they feel stuck in repeating patterns whether in relationships, work, self-doubt, or during life transitions. They may feel anxious, heavy with grief, or unsure how to make lasting changes, despite trying different strategies before. If you are a young adult or adult seeking meaningful therapeutic insight with lasting growth and deeper understanding of yourself beyond strategies for short term relief, this approach may be the right fit for you. Our work usually goes beyond surface level problem solving. Together, we will explore patterns that keep you feeling stuck, build self-awareness, and strengthen your sense of personal agency.

Grief therapy offers a supportive space to navigate the pain of loss, whether it involves loss of someone in your life, life transitions, or any form of loss or change. Through this process, you can begin to make sense of your emotions, understand how grief affects different areas of your life, and find meaningful ways to carry both your loss and your ongoing life forward.

My session with Sandhiya felt so open-minded! I felt that I was able to be so vulnerable when only after my first session with her. I appreciate her directness and knowledgeable feedback.
