New to Grow
As a therapist, I lead with empathy, presence, and genuine care. I am a strong listener who stays client-focused, creating a space where people can feel safe enough to be honest about their pain, fears, and hopes. My goal is to help clients find hope in moments that feel hopeless, clarity in confusion, and confidence in places where fear once lived.
Our first session is spent getting know each other and start building our relationship. I will be asking questions to see where you are at, what drew you to see me, who are the important people in your life and what you enjoy. I will also make sure you understand that what you and I discuss during sessions is between you and me, unless you or someone else may be in danger. At that point, I will work with you and other to make sure everyone can and will stay safe.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are rooted in empathy, active listening, and a deeply client-centered approach. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where my clients are able to feel truly heard and understood. One of my key strengths is meeting clients where they are at, honoring their unique experiences, readiness for change, and personal values. I use a flexible, eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, reality therapy, and faith-based perspectives when appropriate to best meet each client’s needs. I am passionate about helping clients gain insight, build on their strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and find hope and healing as they move toward meaningful and lasting growth.
I work with any individual or family ages five through older adult. I have experience working with individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. I also have experience working with individuals who deal with chronic illness, their families and/or caregivers. In addition, I have experience working with people who are involved in the foster care system in the state of Wisconsin.
Christian Counseling
I am a Christian and willing to include this in my sessions if a client would like me to do so.
Compassion Focused
Compassion Focused therapy is used when someone tends to focus on the harder, more challenging situations in life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This method is used to challenge negative thoughts and then reframe them to create positive coping skills.
Eclectic
This is the approach I use the most as a therapist because it allows me to tailor every session to each individual’s needs by applying bits and pieces of a variety of treatment approaches.
