Are you stressed and overwhelmed by your health, your day-to-day life, or your relationships? As a Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, as well as being a two-time breast cancer survivor and a caretaker for my elderly parents, I can help you to navigate health issues and life stresses more effectively. Life can be difficult for each of us at some point in time, in ways unique to our own circumstances. My goal is to help people through the tough chapters so that they move into better chapters with additional tools to handle challenges and stresses. I don't view people as being broken or needing fixing. We all need someone with whom to sort things through at times, someone who isn't part of our day-to-day mix. In therapy, clients develop more effective expectations by redefining their stresses and challenges, reduce emotional upset and distress by looking at their issues from a new angle, and feel empowered by trying new approaches to effective problem-solving. I would be pleased to walk this journey with you, to reduce stress and find a more satisfying approach to life. Available appointments are those set aside specifically for intakes. I see clients through Grow Therapy on Monday and Tuesday. I cannot do letters, FMLA forms or provide disability opinions for clients who have not already been involved in therapy with me for at least several months. While I really enjoy working with individuals aged 65 and older, due to Medicare regulations, I cannot see traditional Medicare clients for self-pay. I can see those seniors with Medicare Replacement plans which are accepted by Grow Therapy. I only work with individuals, and do not do marital or family therapy.

I decided to be a counselor because I understood the importance of someone who looks like me doing this work. My goal is to create an open and affirming space for everyone including, Black bodies, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those creating healthy non-traditional relationships. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma are common issues that can impact your day to day lives and close relationships no matter your background. By the end of therapy, you will be more confident in speaking up for yourself and creating healthy boundaries. I utilize a strength-based approach that combines different therapeutic modalities that address generational trauma, negative self-talk, and strategies to improve your mood. I tend to tailor treatment to each individual to fit who they are and their needs.

I'm Clay and I am offering in-person therapy in Saint Marys, Georgia, and virtual therapy for those who feel exhausted from struggling with anxiety, overthinking, and challenging relationships. My counseling style combines the best of advanced psychological principles and a Christian worldview. Pulling from both worlds, I offer evidence-based interventions which are centered in biblical values. Clinically proven care with a compassionate, individualized and active approach that focuses on integrating your therapeutic relationship with the practice of transpersonal mindfulness-based skills to help you achieve lasting emotional and mental well-being. My style is responsive, spiritual, and supportive. I adapt quickly and use our relationship built upon trust to leverage real change by examining blind spots in your operating system. However, if your faith journey does not align with Christianity or you do not subscribe to any faith, I am still able to create a safe space for you to do therapy that honors wherever you are at at this point in your life. What you are doing right now matters and if you feel lost or ready to give up: give me a call. I provide Specialization in a variety of unique men’s issues like compulsive behaviors, addictions, overall numbness, lack of purpose, difficulties with boundaries, couples and family issues, niche sexuality concerns, veteran’s issues, and anger management.

Hello! I’m a Licensed Therapist. I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I finally connected with my purpose. Therapy truly is my heart job. Even before becoming a therapist, I was the person my friends would call when they needed someone to talk to, someone to listen, or someone to help them work through a difficult situation. I’ve experienced my own trauma and difficult seasons, so I understand that sometimes life can feel heavy, overwhelming, and confusing. Becoming a teen mom was a turning point in my life. I knew I wanted more for myself and my family, and I wanted to create a different future. I went to college with the goal of healing, growing, and learning how to help others do the same. Today, I’m passionate about helping people find their purpose, work through the things that have been holding them back, reach their goals, and build healthy and supportive relationships. I want my clients to feel comfortable being their real, authentic selves without fear of judgment. I believe in **practicing what I preach**. If I’m asking you to try something, challenge yourself, set a boundary, or look at something differently, it’s because I believe in the process and understand that change can be uncomfortable. Most importantly, I believe **we all have answers within us**. Sometimes life, trauma, fear, or circumstances make it difficult to see them. My role is to help you uncover those answers, recognize your strengths, and find your way forward. You don't have to have it all figured out. We can figure it out together.

Sometimes in our lives, we will have experiences that will require some form of intervention. Together, let's explore healthy interventions. Trauma doesn't have to mean catastrophic. My goal is to provide a safe space. To assist with the development or refinement of skills that will allow you to explore opportunities for change. The ability to motivate someone requires patience, understanding, and listening skills; truth and honesty. These are traits that I am empowered to bring to therapy.

Hello! With over 20 years in the medical field I have begun to understand the complex relationship between physical illness, life transitions, and mental well-being. Add my own personal journey through faith, anxiety, post-partum depression, and a not so perfect health ... I have a unique approach to therapy. My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in my Christian faith. I believe that true healing and resilience begin when we know our identity and security in Christ. By understanding who we are and how deeply we are loved by Him, we build the solid foundation necessary to navigate, endure, and overcome the pressures of this world. I provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) integrated with a foundation of Christian discipleship, helping clients align their thought patterns with psychological health and biblical truth. I also believe true healing and resilience involve the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. My true healing began when I also paid attention to how to best support my body physically. We will also explore how daily physical habits, such as what we eat and how we move, impact your overall well-being.

My practice also includes working with families, couples, and individuals, addressing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, body dysmorphic disorder, and struggles related to transitioning or alternative life styles. Additionally, I have supported many clients who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I use EMDR as part of my trauma treatment. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I reject stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution focused therapy, EMDR for trauma and complex PTSD. and I work tailoring our dialogue to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! -Liz Lizotte

My name is Kevin Crabtree, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I wanted to be a therapist from the time I saw Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, because I knew even then that feeling truly heard and understood could change everything. Since 2008, I've worked with at-risk children and families, federal and state prisoners, and military service members and their families, and that range has given me a deep and practical understanding of how human beings actually navigate hard times. I am solution-focused and strength-based, and I work to reduce the stigma around mental health by helping clients build support, expand coping skills, and find language for what they're experiencing. I have a particular focus on men's mental health, especially for Southern men who may have grown up with the message that asking for help is a weakness. I believe getting support sooner makes everything else, relationships, career, daily life, more manageable, and I try to make that process feel as straightforward and judgment-free as possible. In our first session, I'll share a bit about my background, give you a tour of the Grow platform, and then we'll start talking about what brings you in and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. I takes a special interest in overcoming the barriers to mental health care for Southern men, aged 20-50.

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Georgia. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Georgia from Athens to Savannah! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Georgia.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
