Welcome! I am Kamitra. Do you have depressive, negative or self-defeating thoughts that make life hard to enjoy? I assist minorities with overcoming those overwhelming thoughts associated with anxiety, depression and trauma. I love channeling those inner feelings and processing thoughts to get to the core of your struggles, all while creating structure in your daily life, setting goals and increasing self-esteem. This is your safe space and I am here to assist you with creating the best version of you. Therapy may seem scary however, we will take it one session at a time. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Growing up, mental health didn’t exist in my family or community. Now that I am wiser, I know it was always there but overlooked, especially in minority communities. I am here to assist you not only get through those trying times in life that we all go through but also to let you know that you are not alone in this journey. I will challenge you to become the best version of yourself by providing you with the tools and confidence to face yourself, others and have those difficult conversations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy working with male and female minorities between the ages of 20 and 45 years old with specific issues such as trauma, anxiety, relationships, depression, self-esteem, and more. I assist clients treat those unwanted feelings and emotions that cause trouble.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will use CBT therapy to challenge and reframe those negative, depressing thoughts that may seem to take over your thinking pattern.

EMDR

We will use EMDR to help process disturbing and/or traumatic events that cause distress to decrease the disturbance of these events.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

We will use DBT to develop new, healthy behaviors that will improve how you manage stress and improve communication to create a positive life worth living.
