Gabby Hodges
Hi, I’m Gabby! I'm passionate about helping high-achievers, perfectionists, eldest children, and late-diagnosed ADHD adults navigate burnout and redefine their identity. If you carry the weight of family expectations, struggle with imposter syndrome, feel stuck in a major life transition, or have been masking just to keep up, you can take up all the space you need in our work together to discover who you are beyond your career, family, and societal roles.
First session
Our first session is all about building rapport and ensuring you feel seen and understood. We will briefly review practice policies and consent forms. From there, we will explore what brings you to therapy, look at how your current environment and relationships are impacting your well-being, and review any questionnaires you completed before our appointment. By the end of our session, we will explore one or two goals and establish a regular schedule to keep your momentum going.
Strengths
I don’t rush to solutions before understanding the full picture. I’m skilled at tracking what’s actually happening beneath the surface: the protective habits, the conflicting parts of you, the patterns you’ve learned to live with. I will challenge you when necessary, but always gently. Most importantly, I’ll help you develop a new relationship with your emotions so you can treat them as messengers instead of problems.
Ideal clients
You’re ready to understand why you manage so much, not just how to do it better. You’re willing to sit with discomfort, look honestly at your past, and stop waiting for permission to want things. You want supportive guidance as you figure out who you are and how to build a life that actually feels right for you. You’re ready to apply what you learn in session to your actual life. If that resonates, we may be a good fit!
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
We work on accepting parts of life you can’t change, while committing to actions that align with your values. This lets you move forward with what matters to you, even when difficult emotions show up.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. We work on shifting unhelpful thought patterns and the habits that go with them.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
We balance accepting yourself as you are with building concrete skills to manage intense emotions, and create meaningful change.
Attachment-based
How you learned to relate to others can influence how you show up in relationships today. We explore those patterns so you can build healthier, more secure connections.
