I believe there are times in a person's life when they need a trustworthy ally who offers integrity, understanding, and nonjudgement. I believe this is also someone who can help another person explore the causes of his/her/their thoughts, feelings, or behaviors and develop new ways of thinking, acting and feeling. I am committed to helping individuals, couples, and families achieve these goals in an environment that emphasizes confidentiality, respect, trust, and compassion. My specialty areas include depression, anxiety, trauma, and behavioral issues. I have over 12 years of experience in my field. I work with adults and couples. In addition to excellent rapport building skills, I utilize a combination of several therapeutic modalities to include systems theory, person-centered, CBT, DBT, trauma-focused, and mindfulness-based techniques. “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” - Maya Angelou - If you need guidance, a sense of peace, and someone to listen; you've come to the right place. The first session is a mixture of gathering information, building rapport, and the client sharing their goals.
I am open-minded, a good listener, and I offer my years of professional experience.
I best serve those that are open to receiving the support they are seeking. Clients who are willing to put in the work to improve the circumstances which brought them to seek services to begin with. This can be difficult and scary at times but if you are willing to give me a chance, I will be working right beside you for as long as you are willing.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Most of my career has included this modality of treatment to assist in learning how to reframe negative thinking patters.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Used as a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment for intense emotional regulation issues.
Couples Counseling
To help partners resolve conflicts, improve communication, and deepen intimacy through structured interventions. It typically involves initial assessment sessions, goal setting, and evidence-based techniques.
Motivational Interviewing
Focuses on empathy, eliciting "change talk," and exploring the pros/cons of change to help clients.
Strength-Based
Used to build self-efficacy, foster hope, and encourage clients to use their past successes and personal talents to overcome current challenges.
