Welcome! Empathy for the realities of human suffering and trauma in our world, drew me to devote my career to therapy. I have a passion for helping children, teens, young adults, parents and families understand the patterns of harm that are contributing to their suffering. I believe each individual who enters the therapy process possesses the ability to explore the roots of their suffering and begin the journey toward healing.
In our first session we will get to know a little bit more about each other. I will ask you a variety of relevant questions to better understand your unique goals for therapy. We will collaboratively discuss creating a treatment plan to help you reach those unique goals.
As a mental health provider, my greatest strength is my genuine love and passion for this field. I pride myself in creating a safe place for individuals to feel heard and seen. I believe in my clients' abilities to grow, while holding space for exactly where they are.
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy including (e.g. eco systemic family systems, DBT, IFS and narrative therapy etc.) to explore early attachments, stories of harm, the inner child, and parts of self. Utilizing a holistic, strengths -based and person-centered approach to healing, I work with my clients to help them define their experiences. My background and passion for trauma informed care drive the heart of my work as a therapist.
I utilize narrative therapy in practice to help clients understand the story they bring to the space. I also work with clients to help them understand how this unique story impacts their mental health and functioning.
I incorporate my experience with Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy to help families understand the patterns of communication and interactions that are keeping them stuck. I work with families to find more effective ways to relate to each other. This model of therapy helps to equip families to be their best resource for changing unhelpful patterns.
I work with clients wishing to explore the impact of traumatic grief and loss. Grief therapy can aid clients in processing the emotional impact of death and life beyond the death of a loved one. I utilize grief therapy and grief processing to aid clients in healing from the death of their special person.
I utilize Internal Family Systems to support clients seeking internal balance and harmony. IFS therapy holds that the mind is made up of "parts." This form of therapy helps clients discover the unique roles and responsibilities of each of these "parts". Clients learn to befriend these "parts" to release painful emotions and find harmony in the present.
