I provide psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with are managing a lot on the outside while feeling overwhelmed underneath. I focus on understanding what’s actually driving your symptoms—not just what’s showing up day to day, but the patterns, stressors, and experiences shaping how you’re feeling. When relevant, this can include family dynamics, especially when stress is impacting more than one person. As a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a doctoral degree, I bring experience in both primary care and psychiatry. I offer both medication management and therapy, and we’ll decide together what makes sense for you. I commonly work with anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and stress related to relationships and life changes. My goal is for treatment to feel straightforward and useful—so you leave with a clearer understanding of what’s going on and what to do next.

First session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—most people have been thinking about it for a while before they schedule. That’s normal. In the first session, we’ll focus on getting a clear picture of what’s been going on. I’ll ask questions about what you’re dealing with, how long it’s been affecting you, and what feels most difficult right now. There’s no pressure to explain everything at once. We’ll also talk about what you want to feel different or better—even if that’s still unclear. If it makes sense, we can discuss medication as one option. That decision is always collaborative, and you’ll have space to ask questions and think it through. By the end of the session, you can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of your symptoms and a plan for next steps. I offer flexible scheduling, including weekday and weekend availability, with appointments often available within the same week.

Strengths

My approach is steady, direct, and practical. I want you to feel understood, but also like the time is actually helping you move forward. I look at patterns over time—not just symptoms—so we can understand why things are happening, not just react to them. From there, we focus on changes that are realistic and sustainable. Sessions are conversational but focused. I’ll guide when needed, step back when it makes sense, and help you sort through what’s actually useful versus what just keeps you stuck.

Ideal clients

I work best with individuals and parents who are used to managing a lot on their own, but are starting to feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in patterns that are no longer working. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware, but find themselves repeating the same cycles—whether that’s anxiety, overthinking, emotional reactivity, or difficulty finding balance in their daily lives. They’re often looking for more than just a space to talk. They want clarity, a better understanding of what’s driving these patterns, and practical ways to move forward. My approach tends to resonate with people who are open to reflection, but also ready for change—and who value a steady, thoughtful process that leads to meaningful, sustainable progress.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy in a practical, collaborative way—helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and how certain patterns may be keeping you stuck. Together, we look beyond surface-level symptoms to identify the patterns, pressures, and triggers shaping your experience. From there, we work on building more effective ways of responding—whether that’s shifting unhelpful thought patterns, improving coping strategies, or making small, meaningful changes in daily life. My approach is not about overanalyzing or forcing change. It’s about creating clarity, building insight, and applying strategies that feel realistic and actually work outside of session.

Dr. Buck is absolutely amazing, I recently had a procedure which makes it very difficult for me to speak and she shows incredible patience with me. I have several doctors at the moment at Dr. Buck provides me with more assistance than the others combined.
