About me

Hi, I'm Regina! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 17 years of clinical experience helping adults and couples navigate relationship challenges, attachment wounds, anxiety, life transitions, and career concerns. I specialize in helping clients understand and break recurring patterns—especially the anxious-avoidant cycle that can leave people feeling disconnected, stuck, or misunderstood. My approach is warm, compassionate, and interactive. I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative partnership where you feel safe, supported, and challenged when needed. I integrate attachment theory, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, mindfulness, and CBT to tailor treatment to your unique needs. Whether you're struggling in your relationships, questioning your career path, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, my goal is to help you build greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, discuss your history and goals, and identify what you'd like to get out of our work together. My priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. While we'll spend time getting to know one another, I also strive to provide meaningful insights and practical tools from the very beginning. You can expect a collaborative, nonjudgmental conversation that leaves you feeling supported and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is that I've spent years doing my own personal work and understand firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to sit on the other side of the therapy room. I've experienced the benefits of therapy, somatic work, and learning to navigate anxiety and longstanding patterns, which gives me both professional expertise and personal insight. Clients often describe me as compassionate, direct, and easy to talk to. I won't simply sit quietly if I believe there's a pattern worth exploring—I gently challenge clients when appropriate while maintaining a supportive and validating environment. I also bring a unique background in career counseling, allowing me to help clients navigate not only emotional and relationship concerns, but also questions of purpose, burnout, and meaningful work. My goal is to help clients feel deeply understood while empowering them to make lasting changes that align with who they want to become.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults and couples who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. They may feel stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, struggle with anxiety or self-esteem, be navigating a difficult life transition, or feel uncertain about their career path. Many of my clients are insightful, caring individuals who have spent years putting others first and are now ready to prioritize their own growth and well-being. They are open to exploring deeper patterns, learning new skills, and doing the work necessary to build healthier relationships—with themselves and others. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply know that life could feel more fulfilling, I'm here to help you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Our earliest relationships often shape how we connect with others, communicate our needs, and respond to conflict, intimacy, and vulnerability. Together, we'll explore the attachment patterns that may be influencing your current relationships, whether that looks like anxiety, avoidance, people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, or difficulty trusting others. I frequently work with clients experiencing the anxious-avoidant dynamic, helping them better understand both themselves and their partners. Rather than viewing these patterns as flaws, I see them as protective strategies that developed for a reason. Through increased awareness, practical tools, and compassionate exploration, clients can begin to develop more secure ways of relating. My goal is to help you build healthier relationships by improving communication, strengthening emotional regulation, and fostering greater connection, safety, and authenticity in your interactions with others and yourself.

Couples Counseling

I work with couples experiencing a wide range of concerns, from communication difficulties and recurring arguments to high-conflict relationships and deeply ingrained patterns. Using attachment theory, family systems, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help couples identify the cycles keeping them stuck and develop healthier ways of communicating and connecting. I recognize that relationship challenges are often influenced by past experiences, attachment wounds, and family dynamics, and I help couples gain a deeper understanding of how these factors impact their relationship today. I also offer relationship intensives for couples seeking to make meaningful progress in a condensed format and dive more deeply into complex issues.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients better understand the different "parts" of themselves that may show up in daily life. For example, one part may be highly self-critical, while another longs for connection or works hard to keep you safe from being hurt. Rather than viewing these parts as problems, I help clients approach them with curiosity and compassion. Through IFS, clients can gain insight into longstanding patterns, improve emotional regulation, and develop a stronger sense of self. This approach can be especially helpful for anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and healing from past experiences.

Somatic

I use somatic approaches to help clients develop a deeper connection between their mind and body. Many of us carry stress, emotions, and past experiences not only through our thoughts, but also through physical sensations and nervous system responses. Together, we explore how your body communicates emotions and learn practical tools to increase awareness, regulate your nervous system, and create a greater sense of safety and balance. Somatic work can be especially helpful for anxiety, stress, relationship patterns, and feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. By bringing attention to both your thoughts and your physical experiences, we can better understand patterns and create lasting change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a person-centered approach by creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and genuine understanding. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and goals at your own pace. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I meet you where you are and tailor therapy to your unique needs. I balance compassionate support with gentle guidance and thoughtful challenges to help you gain insight, build confidence, and create meaningful change.
