Raissa Dywou
My name is Raissa Dywou APRN, PMHNP-BC and owner of KC Care for the Mind LLC. I started KC Cares for the Mind because I knew there had to be a better way. I wanted to create a practice where individuals are treated with uncompromising dignity — a safe space where you can share your thoughts without fear of judgment, and where your provider actually takes the time to listen to the nuances of your story. My mission is to provide accessible, thoughtful, and individualized care that empowers you to regain control over your thoughts, your emotions, and your future.
First session
My aim is to establish a space characterized by trust, compassion, empathy, freedom, absence of judgment, respect, and a place where you feel heard and valued. During our first session I will listen more and may asked more question to better understand your needs.
Strengths
As a psychiatric mental health professional, I take a holistic approach to my treatment. I collaborate with my patients to identify the best treatment for their mental disorder. We work together to get you better.
Ideal clients
I help adolescents, adults, and older adults who are ready to regain control of their mental health. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or mood disorders, I provide personalized, evidence-based care in a compassionate, judgment-free environment. Together, we'll build practical strategies, improve emotional well-being, and help you thrive—not just cope. My approach combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy tailored to each individual's unique needs.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
I believe understanding your mental health is just as important as treating it. I use psychoeducation to transform confusion into clarity by helping clients understand why they feel the way they do and how evidence-based treatments can help. My goal is to equip each client with practical knowledge and personalized strategies so they leave every session feeling more confident, empowered, and actively involved in their own recovery.
Supportive
I use supportive therapy as a steady, grounding presence in care. I meet clients where they are emotionally, offering validation, encouragement, and practical guidance without judgment. The focus is on strengthening existing coping skills, helping clients feel less overwhelmed, and restoring a sense of stability during difficult periods. By highlighting resilience and reinforcing what is already working, I help clients regain confidence and move forward at a pace that feels manageable and sustainable.
Interpersonal
In my practice, I use Interpersonal therapy as a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients recognize who they are and how to manage their emotions and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, gently challenge them, and replace them with more balanced and realistic perspectives of who they are. The focus is to create a unique approache just for you
