Hello, my name is Luz Florio and am an LCMHC with 13 years of experience starting with crisis, community based, private practice and military counseling. My therapeutic approach is in DBT, CBT, and Solution Focused which I utilize to help you manage your mental health. I like to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them to help them reach their goals. I am warm and welcoming while being professional and assisting clients in creating goals and finding coping skills that work for them. I work with teens, adults, individuals and couples.

I am currently 55 with years of life experience and 13 years of experience. Over those years I have learned when it is appropriate to hold space and when to push back.
My dream client is one that is ready to be open and ready to do the work required in therapy. I like clients that are willing to practice skills between sessions and are willing to try the skill more than once. I appreciate clients who are willing to be vulnerable and open with their feelings in order to reach selected goals.
DBT is a skills-based type of counseling which I like because it offers clients a wide variety of skills to help improve their lives.
I use CBT to help clients see where their thinking might be contributing to problems and work on ways to change the thought patterns.
