I am a Mental Health Counselor with almost 20 years of experience providing therapy to diverse populations. I have worked with clients who have dealt with a wide range of concerns including but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, and self-esteem issues. My hope is to partner with you through a therapeutic journey that leads you to a happier and more fulfilling life. My therapy style is compassionate, warm, and engaging. It is very important to me to respect and empower each individual to enable the confidence needed to make life changes. My approach combines humanistic and cognitive-behavioral therapy, in which we will work together to identify and reframe negative and unhelpful thoughts that may be affecting the way you feel.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, supportive space. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—you can go at your own pace. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and any patterns you’ve been noticing. This also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and see if it feels like a good fit. By the end of the session, we’ll begin to identify some initial goals and talk about what working together might look like moving forward. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my practice of therapy, I don’t just help you understand why you’re feeling the way you are—I help you develop practical tools to actually move forward. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns, step back from them, and respond in more intentional, grounded ways. Together, we focus on breaking cycles that keep you feeling stuck, especially in areas like anxiety, life transitions, and relationships. Clients often share that they feel both supported and challenged in our work. I create a space that is warm and nonjudgmental; while also helping you build awareness, shift patterns, and make meaningful changes in your day-to-day life. The goal isn’t just short-term relief—it’s helping you leave therapy with a clearer understanding of yourself, stronger coping skills, and the confidence to navigate future challenges on your own.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with young adults navigating the challenges that often come with this stage of life—whether that’s managing anxiety, going through major life transitions, or working through relationship difficulties. This can include changes in career, identity, family dynamics, or figuring out what you truly want for your future. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain, especially when it comes to relationships—with partners, family, or even themselves. Together, we create a space where you can better understand your patterns, build healthier ways of relating, and gain clarity about the direction you want your life to take. My goal is to support you in feeling more grounded, confident, and empowered as you move through these transitions and create relationships—and a life—that feel aligned with who you are.

My treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it offers a practical, effective way to help people understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Many of the challenges we face are influenced by unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns, and CBT provides the tools to identify those patterns, gently challenge them, and replace them with more balanced and realistic perspectives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness into therapy to help clients slow down, become more present, and develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts and emotions without judgment. In a fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in worry about the future or regret about the past. Mindfulness helps bring your focus back to the present moment, where real change can begin.
