15 years of experience

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I received my Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2008 and became licensed in 2013. For the past 15 years I have worked as a clinician in both school and community agency settings. My clients have been of all ages, backgrounds and cultures and with a wide range of challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will focus on getting to know you and explore what brought you in to seek therapy. We will discuss your current concerns and together we will come up with a plan to reach your goals. I will be answering any questions you have along the way!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As an experienced clinician I have I have helped clients with a wide range of challenges. This along with ongoing trainings has given me a solid toolbox to use when developing therapy goals with my clients.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients who are at various stages of adulthood. Maybe you are starting a new career or contemplating starting a family. You might be thinking about retirement and wondering what you will do next. If a major change or stressful event is causing discomfort in your life (maybe through anxiety or depression) I am here to help support you in finding some relief.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

For the past 15 years I have used techniques and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients who are experiencing depression and anxiety. By becoming aware of our thoughts and emotions we can learn how they are impacting our behaviors and how we respond to daily life situations.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Often times clients come to therapy to seek help and relief from a current problem or stressor in their life. I often use this modality when clients are looking for a goal oriented, present focused treatment for their current problem.

Integrative

Because there is not such thing as one size fits all in therapy I often take an integrative approach and combine different modalities in therapy to meet the needs of my clients. Though I often use CBT and solution focused treatments I also use mindfulness based techniques, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing while using a trauma informed approach.

Psychoeducation

I have always used some form of psychoeducation when working with clients. Part of being able to make changes and improve our life is to become aware and learn about ourselves. I strive to provide clients with information that will help them overcome challenges, learn about their own mental health or the health of a loved one. Becoming aware and gaining an understanding of the challenges in our lives is often the first step towards finding relief.
