Nazanin Nikoukary
Life can feel overwhelming when you're trying to balance relationships, parenting, and your own needs. I enjoy helping individuals and couples make sense of these challenges, understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and find new ways to move forward.
You deserve to feel understood, not judged. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, parenting stress, or the overwhelm of everyday life, I want to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident, and create meaningful change.
My goal is to help you build a better understanding of yourself and create healthier connections in your life.
First session
My hope is that clients leave their first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the process. I want them to feel comfortable being themselves, without judgment or pressure, while beginning to explore what brought them to therapy and what they hope to achieve.
Strengths
I bring curiosity, openness, and a genuine interest in understanding people beyond the surface. I enjoy exploring the emotions, experiences, and relationship patterns behind a person's struggles. My approach balances deeper self-exploration with practical tools, helping clients gain insight while making meaningful changes in their everyday lives.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, parenting stress, anxiety, and the impact of past experiences. I am particularly interested in supporting women who feel overwhelmed by competing responsibilities, adults navigating ADHD, and couples looking to improve communication and emotional connection. My ideal clients are curious about understanding themselves, open to exploring patterns that may be holding them back, and interested in combining self-exploration with practical tools to create meaningful change.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients identify how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we challenge unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways of responding to everyday challenges.
Attachment-based
I explore how early relationships and attachment experiences may influence clients' current relationships, emotional needs, and patterns of connection. This helps clients develop greater self-awareness and healthier relationships.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT skills to help clients improve emotional regulation, tolerate distress, practice mindfulness, and communicate their needs more effectively
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I help clients identify their strengths, recognize what is already working, and focus on achievable goals. We build on small steps toward meaningful change rather than focusing only on problems.
