Hi, I'm a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I received my Masters in Adult and Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from UMASS Lowell and my Post-Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from UMASS Amherst. I have at least 5 years of experience in this role following almost 8 years as a psychiatric nurse. I have experience in managing a vast array of psychiatric and mental health disorders through psychotherapy and medication management. I am all about bringing relief to my clients to improve their quality of life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. You will have my full attention, and know that I value collaborative work. I like to empower my clients and make them feel in control over their health and their treatment.
Having worked in psychiatry for many years I have great experience in managing various mental health conditions through psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. I am well vexed in helping clients obtain optimum mental health. My strengths as a provider include listening and empowering my clients and collaborating with them to effectively manage their illness.
I have vast experience working with clients with different types of psychiatric and mental health challenges such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated and interested in better treating and managing the psychiatric and mental health conditions but do not know how or do not possess what it takes to realize this goal, and are often overwhelmed by their condition.
I incorporate brief psychotherapy with ACT relying on acceptance and mindfulness modalities, and the client's commitment and strategies for behavior change in order to promote psychological flexibility.
I incorporate brief psychotherapy with CBT to reduce symptoms of various mental illness. I use this method to help the client identify unhealthy thoughts while challenging them to learn practical ways to manage or change them to promote their mental and physical health.
I incorporate psychotherapy with psychoeducation as an evidence-based therapeutic intervention by teaching clients and providing them information and support to better understand and cope with their illness.
