Hi, I am Danielle, I create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore those things that are difficult to look at, let alone share with another. I will help you explore those areas of your life that you wish were different. Let's be real, change does not happen unless we identify what needs to change first. And for those averse to change... remember, to get better, it must change. My purpose in life is bring light to the world. That being said, I am a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is, but always supportive, human. We learn so many ways to beat ourselves up, rules that keep us from being able to be our true selves. We learn to ignore our instincts and our body's needs. Unlearning all of this is simple, but not easy. It takes practice and I'm here for it. I believe in Law of Attraction and that language is a part of who I am. I do not believe in focusing on the problem/issue. Once identified, I want to quickly move on to the solution, building on your strengths.
The first session is all about getting to know you. I'll never tell you what to do, but understanding what brought you to therapy, helps me figure out a plan to help you accomplish your goals. I'm just the guide, you'll be doing the work. We will spend some time going over your forms, medical and psychiatric history, as well as discussing both of our expectations for therapy.
I am empathetic, but I think all counselors are. However, my life experience has given me an immense capacity for compassion and I have a knack for being able to see the whole picture when I talk to someone. That helps me to be able to identify a path to change and then guide and support them on whatever path they choose. I am open and nonjudgemental. This comes from my joy of learning new things and a lifetime of being judged incorrectly... by others and myself. I believe in empowerment and that is my goal with all of my clients. I will always tell it like I see it.
Do you find yourself wondering how you got where you are? Have you tried everything, but struggle to make progress on your goals or to make the changes you want to make? If you are feeling like the world is pressing in on you, like you don't recognize yourself, let's talk. Whether you wake up unexcited for the day ahead or find yourself worrying about what's next, we can shift it. Maybe you just got out of a bad relationship or finally made that big leap to take on something new. Life transitions can be difficult. Everything in our bodies wants what we are used to, even though we know it isn't good for us, and it takes a lot of effort to continue moving forward into the new. I am here to support you in that transition and learn to view it in a different way until it becomes your new "normal".

Overall, I believe in Positive Psychology, which highlights strengths rather than weaknesses. How we talk to ourselves is of the utmost importance. I utilize a few different approaches in my work with clients. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is effective for a variety of presenting issues and is something that clients can take with them and apply on their own. Combining it with Mindfulness and a Solution Focused approach, helps focus clients on the present moment and moving forward while building on strengths. I also use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as Tapping, to help with a variety of issues, especially effective for anxiety, including PTSD, and improving self esteem.
Staying focused on the present moment reduces depression (which is focused on the past) and anxiety (which is focused on the future). Combining Mindfulness with CBT and a Solution Focused approach helps focus clients on the present moment, moving forward, and building on strengths.
It is helpful to know how we got where we are, but most important is where to go from here and how to get there. Combining a Solution Focused approach with CBT and Mindfulness, helps focus clients on the present moment, moving forward, and building on strengths rather than looking back to the past.
