Hello, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about supporting adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and emotional experiences. I understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported from the very first session. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in building a strong therapeutic relationship that allows for meaningful growth and healing. I use an eclectic and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, logotherapy, and trauma-informed care, including EMDR when appropriate. I tailor each session to your unique needs, helping you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns while developing practical coping skills that can be applied in your daily life. I also incorporate psychoeducation and mindfulness-based strategies to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, mood-related concerns, stress, trauma, and life transitions. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for a space to process and grow, I am here to support you. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, clarify your values, and build the tools needed to create meaningful, lasting change in your life at a pace that feels right for you.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is designed to be a welcoming and supportive introduction to the counseling process. My primary goal during this time is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and respected as we begin building a therapeutic relationship. I understand that starting therapy can bring a mix of emotions, including uncertainty or hesitation, so we will move at a pace that feels appropriate for you. At the beginning of the session, we will review important administrative and ethical information, including confidentiality, informed consent, your rights as a client, and the structure of therapy. I will also explain my role as your therapist, how sessions are conducted, and what you can expect moving forward. This is also a time for you to ask any questions you may have so that you feel fully informed and comfortable with the process. The majority of the session will focus on understanding you and what brings you to therapy at this time. I will ask questions about your current concerns, emotional experiences, stressors, and how these challenges are impacting your daily life, relationships, work, or overall functioning. You are not expected to share everything all at once; you are encouraged to share at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. We will also explore relevant background information, such as your personal history, family dynamics, and any significant life experiences that may be connected to your current concerns. This helps me gain a holistic understanding of your situation so that treatment can be tailored specifically to your needs. I may also ask about your strengths, coping strategies, and supports in your life, as these are important protective factors that will be incorporated into your treatment plan. In addition, we will briefly discuss your goals for therapy. You do not need to have everything clearly defined at the first session. Many clients begin therapy simply knowing they want something to feel different or better. Together, we will begin identifying areas of focus and shaping initial goals that reflect what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. Throughout the session, I will be listening carefully, asking clarifying questions, and offering reflections to ensure I understand your experience accurately. The tone of the session is collaborative, meaning we will work together rather than you being expected to “perform” or have all the answers. My role is to support you in making sense of your experiences and to

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the emphasis I place on building a strong therapeutic alliance as the foundation for meaningful change. I prioritize creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative relationship where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I believe that healing happens most effectively within a secure therapeutic connection, and I actively work to strengthen that relationship throughout the course of treatment. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each individual, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, logotherapy, EMDR-informed techniques, and compassion-focused interventions. I integrate psychoeducation and culturally sensitive practices to help clients better understand their emotional experiences and develop practical, real-life coping strategies. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I adapt interventions to match each client’s needs, strengths, and readiness for change. Clients often notice increased emotional awareness, improved regulation skills, and greater clarity in understanding patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My goal is not only symptom relief, but also helping clients build insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of meaning and direction in their lives. I measure progress through both emotional shifts and functional improvements in daily life, relationships, and self-understanding.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with adults navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and relational stressors. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, mood-related concerns, and the impact of stress, trauma, or significant life changes. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to process their emotions, and who are open to gaining insight and developing practical coping strategies. In therapy, I focus on helping clients improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with their values and sense of purpose. I am particularly effective with individuals who are motivated to create meaningful change, even if they are unsure where to begin, and who benefit from a supportive, structured, and collaborative approach.

My goal is to create a collaborative, supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to create meaningful, lasting change.
