About me

I trained at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, and my clinical focus since has been the intersection of substance use and mental health — what the field calls co-occurring disorders, and what most of my clients simply call the hardest thing they've ever dealt with. Addiction rarely shows up alone. It travels with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and complicated relationships.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance to get to know one another in a space that feels genuinely open and safe. We will talk about what brought you here, what you are navigating day to day, and what you are hoping for from therapy. There is no agenda beyond making you feel comfortable and heard. Most clients leave that first session with a clearer sense of the path ahead and ready to take the next step together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is collaborative, solution-focused, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you clarify your values and move through difficult emotions with greater flexibility, Motivational Interviewing to support meaningful change at your own pace, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and CBT to shift thought patterns that are keeping you stuck. For clients navigating trauma and PTSD, I incorporate Seeking Safety and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy. Whatever we use, the approach always centers on you and what actually works.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is a person who arrives at a place in life and recognizes a need for change. They may feel stuck, uncertain, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different. I believe hope opens the door to change, while commitment drives change. My role is to meet clients where they are, help them identify their reasons for change, and support them in turning that hope into meaningful, sustainable action. Together, we explore what is keeping them stuck, build on their strengths, develop practical skills, and create a path forward that is meaningful to them. Change does not have to happen all at once; sometimes, it begins with being willing to believe that something different is possible.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used in practice by helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. The goal is not simply to “think positively,” but to identify patterns that may be keeping the client stuck and develop more effective ways of responding.
