Psychotherapy provides a safe place to discuss fears, thoughts, and difficult decisions we as humans must make during our journey in life. I believe we are capable of making life changes with the right tools. I am here to listen without judgement. I believe we all have a story to share. Being heard is one of the most important aspects of communication. My passion is working with clients who have experienced some form of trauma in their lives. By sharing your story, we can begin to process the trauma from experience to a new understanding, while remaining in the present.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect the first session to be an informal introduction that details a brief history of symptoms, family or origin history, and a brief medical/mental health history, and other pertinent information that the client wants to share.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I work with clients by using a collaborative approach in each session, which helps formulate the treatment plan. I specialize in working with a population that has experienced some form of trauma. I use a variety of approaches that are unique to the needs of each individual client. My approach stands out because there is not one-size-fits-all model for each client. As result, several different approaches may be used throughout the therapeutic journey as we discover the root cause of the beliefs or behaviors that are causing the symptoms and subsequent issues in the client's life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Clients who are searching for relief and to learn coping skills are of utmost importance, Therapy is a two-way street, meaning that there are responsibilities or both the therapist and client. Therapy may prove to provoking for some clients. That's okay. Communicating that possible triggers or other concerns are important to bring up to the therapist so that mitigating the issue can occur.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used to help clients identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is used to help clients learn to stop avoiding and denying their problems, by thinking that they will just go away. Instead, they learn to embrace them and move forward in life by coming up with ways to solve the problem.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT s used to help clients with trauma identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to assist in reducing the symptoms associated with PTSD.

Couples Counseling

Couples Counseling is a form of therapy that helps couples work on communication, conflict resolution, trust issues, and any dysfunctional pattern.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Culturally Sensitive Therapy acknowledges that every client who reaches out for assistance bring a myriad of cultural difference and similarities with them to therapy. In order to develop a therapeutic report, it is important that the therapist check their own biases and beliefs regarding cultures that are different then the clients.
