Hi there! My name is Jessica Filpo and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York. I received my Master's degree from New York University, and have been practicing in this field for over 7 years. I have helped many individuals of all ages and from many different walks of life. In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, establish rapport and readiness for treatment. Then we will dive into specific challenges you are currently facing and wish to focus on. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. You basically led and I will follow wherever you feel comfortable in order to create a safe space.

Clients I have mainly worked with are young adults and older adolescents from many different cultures and backgrounds, suffering from depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, trauma, and anger, among many other life issues.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using CBT in my practice for over 5 years. It has helped many clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and depression. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less stressful life
Motivational Interviewing
I have been using Motivational Interviewing in my practice for over 5 years. It has helped many clients in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll use MI to assist with identifying thoughts and emotions in addition to help exploring goals to improve mood. We'll then use that knowledge to elicit further strengths and change talk, while encouraging continued use of positive coping skills, which will also help you lead a less stressful life
