Hi there, I'm Andrea. Have you been feeling stressed and overwhelmed? Have changes or new challenges in your life evoked feelings or thought streams difficult to manage? Does it feel harder to know how to communicate what you need or feel supported by someone in your life? My goal in working with you is to develop trust and connection; to team with you so that we can identify what is not working and build skills so that you can feel more satisfied in your life. I have over 20 years experience working with adults, couples, adolescents and families. My approach is collaborative and individualized to meet your specific needs for support. I believe that improving the way we connect with each other and care for ourselves will support effective communication that leads to more supportive relationships. Together, we will utilize your strengths and practice new ways to manage stress, emotional difficulties, and the challenges life can bring. I have decades of experience helping clients with anxiety, mood issues, trauma, relationship problems and major life changes. I am straightforward and I want you to feel empowered and confident to enact the changes you seek. I want you to feel that the therapy process can be productive and helpful. You are not alone!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will focus on getting acquainted and clarifying what you need support for in your current life. We will discuss any relevant history or life circumstances that may be impacting your experience and what you need. This process will allow us to create a plan to best suit your goals for treatment going forward.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I offer a variety of approaches in my practice that focus on practical ways to achieve your goals. Over the years, I have been trained to use: cognitive behavioral therapy [CBT], mindfulness practices, behavioral modification interventions, attachment-based therapies, family systems, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy [TF-CBT], and DBT skills development to help coach and integrate improved coping skills and self-awareness.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the course of the last 20 years of experience, I have had opportunities to join with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, social communities and life circumstances. I have a background in clinical social work, trauma focused healing, and attachment based processing. My clients present with needs across a broad spectrum of situations and challenges including relationship difficulties, mood and behavioral problems, addiction issues, difficulties managing stress and anxiety, and change of life issues. My approach focuses on being able to provide service even if you feel like you struggle to find the words to explain what is happening for you.
