Hi there! I'm a Board-Certified Art Therapist based in Massachusetts, licensed to work with clients in MA, CT, and NY. I work with adults facing challenges with anxiety, grief, life transitions, work stress, burnout, parenting, relationships, and more. Art therapy is a powerful tool in emotional exploration and self expression. You don't need any experience with art to start!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I'll get to know you a little better by asking questions about you and what led you to reach out for therapy. This will help me to understand what your needs are and what you hope to gain from therapy, and you will have time to ask me any questions you have about me or our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Beginning therapy can be a big step, and can feel intimidating. One of my strengths as a provider is that I strive to make the process simple and comfortable, and offer myself as a human first, a witness and guide in your therapy process, rather than imposing my beliefs upon you. I take pride in being a good listener, attentive to the details and thoughtful in my responses.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

Compassion is the foundation for my approach as a therapist. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, there is always compassion first.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My early training focused on CBT, and in my experience it's often incredibly helpful to explore the ways our thought processes influence our beliefs and behaviors, sometimes in ways that are surprising. When we look at these factors we can begin to change our outlook and approach to finding wellness.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I am the daughter of a first generation immigrant, and have experienced microaggressions throughout my lifetime. Because of this, I'm sensitive to the many ways in which our cultural differences can impact our daily lives and decisions. Getting to know a person's individual cultural identity is essential to understanding their experience with a depth that allows therapy to be effective. I personally believe this is an ethical responsibility of all therapists, rather than viewing it as a unique approach.

Existential

Many times people come to therapy because they are experiencing existential dread, and need someone willing to explore this with them. Making meaning of our lives can be very hard when we're facing adversity and struggling to manage day to day, and we need a safe space to talk about our bigger fears and questions, that can sometimes feel too heavy or personal for our friends and family to navigate.

Gender-affirming therapy

As someone who identifies as queer, I will always advocate for each person's freedom to express their unique gender identity. I offer a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore and express their gender authentically, you are the expert.
