New to Grow
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been licensed for 24 years. My emphasis is on assisting people with growing emotionally and spiritually. I believe in integrating body, mind, and spirit for the most successful results. I was drawn to therapy because of my love of helping others. I have spent the majority of my life in one way or another, giving back to the community, both personally and professionally. I’m attracted to this work because I believe in our innate ability to heal ourselves spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I am passionate about assisting others to grow and develop insight so they can live happier lives.
I like to create a calm, nurturing environment for my clients. My clients often comment on my compassion and my patience. I strive to create the safest environment possible. I will always go at your pace, not mine. When I meet with a Client for the first time my goal is to build rapport and trust. I believe you cannot do meaningful work if that is not established at the beginning of treatment.
I am an insight-oriented therapist who frequently uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy. In addition, I am a certified life coach as well as a level two Reiki practitioner.
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for most of my clientele who come to me to resolve family-of-origin issues, depression, and anxiety. I approach goal-setting as a collaborative process. My clients always take the lead, and I work with them to uncover other potential areas of focus.
I have utilized this approach successfully for more than 10 years. I first assess for distorted thinking patterns that create anxiety, depression, low self esteem and relationships conflicts. I provide psycheducation on the modality and practice with my clients in session as well as provide worksheets to complete on their own.
