My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT as ground work for understanding thinking and subsequent problem behavior that arises because of the faulty cognitions or beliefs. I have utilized this theory in practice since the days in graduate practice during 2016-2017.

EMDR

This modality specializes in tackling trauma experienced by an individual and is utilized when attempting to desensitize the person to a trauma triggers or reminders. The interventions of EMDR can be utilized per the client's preference but it is an eight stage modality that requires adherence and commitment to. I have utilized EMDR for the last three years and find it effective for those that feel overwhelmed by their trauma timeline. Once the stages are complete that client comes away with a sense of empowerment and relief. Although, I use others modalities with more frequency I find the interventions of EMDR successful and efficacious.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I always begin with mindfulness from grounding to meditation. I implement it first to allow for a person's brain to increase neuroplasticity and challenge stagnant ways of reacting when challenged by and internal/external stimulus . Mindfulness is a proven theory with years of utilization and efficacy in assisting with the management of anxiety and depressive states.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT to gain understanding of what patterns of disruptive behavior need to be processed and challenged. I teach the client the ability to understand precipitating events that cause the disruption whether it is a biological or environmental source. Once source of disruption is identified we begin to challenge mood dysfunction through various DBT interventions some of which are grounded in mindfulness and Wise Mind interventions.
