I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with five years experience working in community health, inpatient psychiatry, and integrated primary care. Although I don’t believe that laughter is the best medicine, I appreciate and incorporate the ability to laugh at life’s absurdities in my work. I also bring a strong sense of social justice and fairness to my work. I endeavor to practice with humility in a culturally competent way, incorporating anti-racism, LGBTQIA+ support, spirituality, and mindfulness

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The therapeutic bond has been shown to be the best indicator of success between a therapist and their client, so I like to use much of the first session to get to know new clients and understand what is presenting difficulties. I also always try to provide new clients with a simple tool to address some of their concerns or issues as a way to see and feel how this work can improve their life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Curiosity & compassion are the core of my success. I always tailor my approach to the needs of my clients, offering techniques from treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and more.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I very much appreciate people who are coming to therapy for the first time. I want to be sure you have a positive experience in therapy and see how it can be helpful so that you are able to find the help you need at any point in your life. I also work well with those who can bring a sense of curiosity and willingness to change to their side of the relationship.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find the viewpoint and tools provided by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be a very good starting point for clients to start making changes and seeing results

Narrative

The stories we tell ourselves about us and other people can have a profound effect on the way we look at life. Seemingly small adjustments can make a big difference

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Understanding that seemingly contradictory things can both be true at the same time can be very helpful
