Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My Counseling style is warm, comfortable, engaging and rapport building. I incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and positive psychology into my sessions. My goal is to create a safe place where we can have difficult conversation, work on resolving issues, and collaborate on treatment plans that are tailored to your personal needs and experiences.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

R. McGregor’s Philosophy WHATEVER,YOU THINK ABOUT, YOU BRING ABOUT. This is the basis of positive psychology, where I use positive individual traits and experiences in your life coupled with exercises that will transform negative thoughts, feelings, ideas, and behaviors. My work with people in prison produced profound effects while using this approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to change the thinking patterns of inmates. When you're working with difficult cases like that, you have to get to the center of the problem quickly, pull it out, address it, and make a plan in order to eliminate or decrease the persisting issue. I bring that same level of precision and focus to everyday working people. I have been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for 20 years with an expertise in treating a wide range of psychological and psychiatric disorders such as: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Explosive Anger Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Schizoaffective disorders

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals, couples, adolescents, and adults who are motivated to improve their emotional well-being and create meaningful change in their lives. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship conflicts, trauma, life transitions, behavioral concerns, or other mental health challenges. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-exploration, willing to learn practical coping skills, and committed to personal growth. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized, drawing on over 20 years of clinical experience treating a wide range of DSM diagnoses. Whether a client is seeking symptom relief, healthier relationships, or greater resilience, my goal is to help them develop the insight and skills needed to achieve lasting, positive change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my clinical practice, I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundation. This approach helps clients notice how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, and learn ways to shift unhelpful thinking patterns and build healthier coping skills. I also use a flexible, integrative approach, drawing from other evidence-based methods depending on each person’s needs. This may include solution-focused strategies, which emphasize identifying what is already working and building on it, and positive psychology techniques that help clients recognize strengths and work toward meaningful goals. In addition, I use a client-centered approach, which means I aim to create a supportive, respectful, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood. When helpful, I may also incorporate techniques that support emotional awareness and processing, help explore mixed feelings about change, and encourage reflection on personal values and meaning in life. Clinical approaches: Positive Psychologist, Client-Centered Therapy(CCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Reminiscent Therapy(RT).
