I am Courtney Jones, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide therapeutic interventions for young children, adolescents, and adults, helping them navigate challenges related to anxiety and depression. My goal is to empower individuals with the tools and strategies needed to improve their emotional well-being, build resilience, and enhance their overall quality of life. Through a compassionate and client-centered approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where healing and personal growth can flourish.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll begin with brief introductions before providing you the space to share the challenges you’re facing. From there, we’ll discuss your goals, which will help me develop a personalized treatment plan to guide our work together in future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My client-centered approach, combined with compassion and empathy, has been key in building strong therapeutic relationships and helping clients overcome the anxiety associated with seeking support. By creating a safe and supportive space, I have effectively guided numerous clients in managing their anxiety and making meaningful progress in their mental health journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults manage their anxiety and depression. I find fulfillment in guiding them to identify and address underlying triggers, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop effective coping mechanisms for lasting well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have employed various CBT techniques, such as cognitive restructuring, where clients learn to challenge and reframe irrational thoughts, and exposure therapy, which gradually exposes clients to feared situations to diminish anxiety responses.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have guided clients in developing mindfulness practices, enhancing their ability to stay present and observe their thoughts without judgment. Additionally, I have assisted clients in building distress tolerance skills, enabling them to navigate crises without resorting to harmful behaviors.

Gottman method

I have guided couples in recognizing and altering negative interaction patterns, fostering a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives, and strengthening their emotional connection.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My experience includes conducting brief, focused sessions where clients are encouraged to envision their desired future and identify steps toward achieving their goals. I have utilized key SFBT techniques such as the miracle question, scaling questions, and exception-finding to facilitate solution-building conversations.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My experience includes creating a non-directive and empathetic therapeutic environment, allowing clients to lead the conversation and explore their experiences at their own pace. I have utilized key techniques such as active listening, reflection, and providing unconditional positive regard to support clients in their self-exploration journey.
