Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the state of Florida. I completed my Master’s Degree at Barry University. In my 22 years of clinical experience, I have worked with foster care children, hospice patients and families, veterans, those seeking treatment for drug addiction/alcohol abuse, and individuals seeking to address a myriad of life stressors. Regardless of the population, my goal is always to help others overcome hardships and find their strengths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will focus on information gathering to help me understand your current struggles and what you would like to achieve. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me and ask questions that are relevant to you. This is an essential part of therapy as client/therapist rapport can often dictate success in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My diverse experience has resulted in a broad lens to assess situations, which helps to avoid pigeonholing clients and avoid one-dimensional approaches.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am interested in working with those feeling “stuck” due to life stressors and that are motivated to make changes and explore themselves. Anxiety and depression have been commonplace in the populations I have worked with, therefore I am best positioned to serve those looking to overcome anxiety, depression, and life stressors.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used this approach in a variety of clinical settings for several years. These settings include: individual therapy with veterans, individuals dealing with life stressors, and couples. My objective with this approach is to help the client see the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Once that connection is established, we can work on making the necessary changes.

Motivational Interviewing

I began to implement Motivational Interviewimg techniques approximately 15 years ago. With this technique, I strive to work collaboratively with a client to help them determine their own reasons for seeking a change and exploring the resources available to help them achieve that. During this process, we’ll explore any ambivalence in changing, how important the change is and any reasons why a client might not be confident in making that change.
