My name is Liliana Gómez, and I am a bilingual (Spanish & English) clinical social worker. If you are struggling to manage mental illness or physical health symptoms, I can help you navigate the feelings that arise and teach you practical skills. My hope is that together we can develop a plan to make life a little less overwhelming and more enjoyable.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session we review confidentiality, boundaries, and discuss questions about the therapy process. We will do brief introductions and discuss what is bring you in for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am very patient and give clients time and space to tell their story. I am also very flexible and understaning ot the need to cancel sessions. Based on client's needs I integrate different aspect of theoretical orientations. Some of these include cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness-based practices. I focus on building strong therapeutic alliance because I think the relationship sets the tone the work we do together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a lot of experience working with black and brown communities, as well as folks in the LGBTQ community. For my entire career so far I have also worked with children and families including single parents and low income families. Additionally, I have supported folks with various chronic health conditions including folks living with HIV, other autoimmune diseases, severe mental illnesses, and neurodivergent.
