Sudden life changes such as the loss of a loved one, the death of a pet, or diagnosis with a chronic or debilitating disease, are hard to handle. Being a caregiver for a loved one who has a chronic or terminal illness can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience; but it also comes with stresses that can be hard for friends and family to understand. Being a person who needs help to manage day to day activities of living can also be difficult, even if the help is appreciated. Illness, loss of mobility, reduced independence, physical and emotional pain can change your relationship with others and with yourself. Even positive life transitions such as retirement, promotions, or reprioritizing your work/life balance to focus on what matters, can be stressful. Whatever changes you are going through can impact your ability to find meaning, a sense of purpose, or hope in your life. Whether you have always struggled with feelings of depression and anxiety, or they have come as a result of these changes in your life, I believe therapy can help. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004, and am currently offering individual therapy via telehealth for clients in Pennsylvania. Before becoming a psychotherapist in Pennsylvania, I worked in developing and delivering community and mental health services in Arizona. Throughout my career I have worked closely with older adults, caregivers, members of the disability community, residents in long term care, and residents in transitional and emergency housing for older victims of elder abuse and intimate partner violence. I have lived experience with chronic illness, disability, and remote caregiving. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a survivor of suicide. I bring all of this professional and personal experience to my practice.

Hello! I appreciate that you’re taking this step toward finding a therapist you feel will be a good fit for you. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 13 years of experience. For most of this time I have worked with people around issues of depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and relationship/family issues. I am also passionate about working with LGBTQ folks around issues of coming out and self-acceptance. I know that the decision to look for a therapist isn’t always an easy one but, by doing so, you are taking an important first step toward creating change for yourself! I take a down-to-earth, supportive, conversational approach to therapy. I engage in discussion and don’t hesitate to share my own life experience when appropriate. I find that a more personal approach helps strengthen the relationship between me and the people I meet with which, in turn, will help you feel more comfortable being open in sessions. I take this approach because therapy is most successful when a person feels like their therapist understands them and when there is some level of connection. I focus on ensuring you will feel both seen and heard starting with our first session. You will be approached by me with curiosity, interest, and care at all times. At the start of your sessions with me I will ask how you’d like to start that day’s conversation and, if you’re not sure, will support you in discovering what might be important for you to talk about in the moment. I invite you to schedule a first session to see if I am a good fit for what you’re looking for in therapy!

Hello! My name is Julia and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. I understand what it's like to feel hopeless, stuck, and trapped in the cycle of emotional suffering due to trauma and other circumstances which can make life feel unmanageable. If those feelings sound familiar to you, you've come to the right place. My work centers around helping clients heal from traumatic experiences by learning to cope with symptoms and behaviors associated with trauma and related mental health diagnoses including anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood and personality disorders. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT) as well as Clinical Trauma with a focus on Complex Trauma (CCTP-II). Hello! I'm Clara. If you have been through traumatic experiences that are getting in the way of you living your life authentically, I would love to support you in regaining a sense of control over your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. If you have experienced loss, I would love to help you learn how to move through grief, rather than avoid it. If you find that you fall into codependent patterns in relationships, I would love to collaborate with you around boundary setting and self-care. I use a psychodynamic approach because I believe it is beneficial to identify the root of unhelpful behaviors and build compassion for the younger versions of yourself that were present when negative beliefs or self-sabotaging behaviors first showed up. I understand the negative impact that societal systems and institutions can have on health and well-being. I will guide you if you are curious to explore how oppressive systems may be affecting you mentally, physically, and spiritually, allowing for new perspectives to be imagined and utilized.

Hi there, I'm Keith. I'm a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania (LPC) and Florida (LMHC). In life we have two choices to make: to live like or unlike the person we want to be. It can be easy to take a look around at your emotional, mental, social, physical, occupational, and spiritual selves and notice certain aspects of them which do not reflect the way you want your life to be. Maybe you feel overwhelmed by difficult emotions like anxiety or depression. Perhaps you feel inundated with negative, self-critical, or racing thoughts. It could be that there's aspects of your relationships that you're unhappy with. Or, you may have issues with your health, addiction, sleep, or feeling on-edge. Your work or school might be stressful or unfulfilling. Perhaps you're struggling with your identity and are experiencing personal and/or systemic discrimination or oppression. Whatever the case may be, I'm here to help you find balance and work towards living a life that looks more like the one you want to have. Together we will identify the issues you're facing, explore and treat them with compassion, and find strategies to address them and seek balance. I will use my warmth, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and evidence-based therapeutic practices to help you live a life that's rooted in your values. I will support you to make positive choices, grow, and find ways to cope with the lows that come along in life and pull you away from being who you want to be. I believe that all people are worthy of love. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and am affirming to queer people, women, people of color, and adults of all ages. If you are looking for a safe therapist to be yourself with, I'd love to work with you. Note: my scheduling availability tends to range from 8am-3pm on weekdays.
