Calming an activated nervous system is one of the most valuable things you can learn for your mental health. It is extremely helpful to manage triggers. It can also be used to retrain your nervous system that it no longer needs to be on high alert. Hi, my name is Cathy and I am grateful to be able to teach you about that as well as help you release energy from past trauma that is triggering you in the present. ImTT, Image Transformation Therapy, along with mindfulness and other somatic and self-care tools help my clients reset their nervous system. This helps you choose to be present in the world in a safe and gentle way. Most of my clients are women in their 40’s and better who are wanting to transform their fear and increase their capacity for more. More love, more joy, more peace, more pleasure. I work with women who have lived with trauma over time; many have also experienced single incident traumatic events. Both experiences can color how you see the world and your experiences with people in it. Reseting your nervous system can help you see your experiences without the past superimposed on it. I also work with professional women with ADHD. It’s not uncommon to have the symptoms of ADHD with a history of trauma. There are a lot of similarities. The tools I work with are extremely effective for ADHD symptoms with trauma history. Does this speak to you? If it does, reach out and schedule a time to meet and see if we are a good match. I am currently taking new clients and would love to work with you.

I am a licensed trauma therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant who helps adults heal from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. My style is warm, direct, and highly practical. I pair EMDR with tools from CBT, and parts-informed work so you get both symptom relief and lasting change. I work often with veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and high-achieving professionals. Sessions are available via secure telehealth in NV, WA, NM, and ID.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
