My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT as a method for treatment for many years. I find that using CBT is a helpful approach in identifying negative thought patterns that can lead to emotional distress or dysregulation. First I would use assessment to identify current stressors. Then I would provide education, identify negative thought patterns, challenge negative thoughts by learning new strategies to reframe, utilize behavioral interventions and skill building including homework to practice new skills learned. Finally, I would monitor progress by checking in weekly to discuss any adjustments or changes that are required. CBT is a goal oriented treatment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have been utilizing Mindfulness- Based Therapy within my practice for years now as I find it extremely beneficial to help support a therapeutic space inside of session and in daily life. I utilize the practice of mindfulness, body scans, guided meditations and imagery to help clients get a sense of awareness within their bodies, their thoughts and feelings. I encourage clients to utilize this practice outside of session as well.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have been using SFBT for many years as I find it is helpful to identify current strengths that one possesses to find solutions and make progress towards goals . SFBT is a collaborative approach that emphasizes solutions by taking small, manageable steps towards goals.
