Hello. I’m Philicia. Have you been feeling sad, disconnected, anxious and overwhelmed? Have you been working with a therapist but need to consider adding or changing medications to improve your symptoms? I help people to better manage depression, anxiety and mood disorders keeping the whole person in mind. Let’s individualize your treatment based on your symptoms, your medical history, and your preferences to create a personalized plan. We’ll use a client-centered approach that combines non-medication techniques in concert with medication to manage your symptoms and keep you moving forward. (Please Note: I do not prescribe controlled medications like Adderall, Xanax or opioids in the State of Virginia) I believe your physical and mental wellness are inseparable. You deserve a compassionate care provider who will listen and address both your physical and your emotional needs using evidence-based and complementary techniques. I'm here to help. Let's work together.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be a thorough review of your medical and psychiatric history and an exploration of your goals for treatment.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe in treating the whole person by creating a partnership based on mutual respect and individualizing care with an understanding of your medical and mental health history. With a background in both primary care and psychiatry, I integrate both into the treatment plan for more comprehensive and personalized care.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Depression, anxiety and mood disorders are my clinical focus areas. I treat patients from age 13 years and up.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use evidence-based treatments including medication, lifestyle modification, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral techniques to target your symptoms from multiple angles.

I had a great first appointment with Philicia. She presents herself with kindness and professionalism. She really listened to what I was saying and tailored my care to my needs (rather than assuming my needs). Her explanation of why she chose certain medication over others shows that she continues to research and learn, and is open to exploring the best options for each patient.
