I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Georgia with ten years of experience. I received my graduate degree in 2015 from Florida State University. I enjoy working with my clients and provide tools to create space for positive changes for their life when challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and life changing situations. My counseling approach is from a place of empathy, mindful and client-centered perspective, yet direct and straightforward. I believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity. I work from the mindset that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths to draw from that will assist you in doing great things and overcoming the lifestyle changes and momentary roadblocks that you are experiencing in this moment. Before even meeting you, I want to acknowledge the start of growth you have already taken by signing up for therapy. In this very moment you have taken the necessary steps for change and you have shown the courage to continue on this path. I am proud of you for getting started! I am excited to meet you and work together to identify your goals and make the right plans for you to achieve them!
For the first session clients can expect to be given the opportunity to ask questions about myself at the beginning. Clients will be informed of the therapeutic approaches and discussion of the best counseling modality that best suits their needs. Questions will be asked as to what has brought you into therapy and the goal(s) you have for yourself, you would like to achieve from your time in therapy.
My approach is solution focused, client centered, and strengths based drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Mindfulness, and Trauma Focused.
"How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you" -Rupi Kaur; is one of my favorite quotes and is instrumental in how I work with my clients. I am a firm believer in self love fosters a greater sense of self, how we communicate with others and empowers us as humans to navigate challenges that arise in our life. As your therapist my goal is to help foster and bring forward your inner strengths and talents to utilize in overcoming challenges and reaching goals you set for yourself.
I love to work with women and men ages 18 and older; as well as couples. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to put in the work in between sessions to make meaningful progress. Clients who are also willing to be challenged in a positive way.
