LICSW, 20 years of experience
Hello, my name is Brooke, and I’m glad you are here. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with 20 years of experience helping others learn how to help themselves. Starting therapy is a big step and can be life changing. My approach is collaborative and compassionate—I believe the best results come from working together to uncover your strengths, build practical tools, and create lasting change that feels true to you.
In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where we’ll get to know each other and explore what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to understand your current challenges, goals, and strengths, and we’ll begin collaborating on a plan that fits your needs. This session is about creating a safe space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable to share at your own pace.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my deep empathy, active listening skills, and ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients. I am skilled at building trusting relationships, helping clients gain clarity, and empowering them to take meaningful steps toward healing and growth.
I enjoy working with individuals who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or facing uncertainty in their lives. Whether they’re navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, or seeking personal growth. I find fulfillment in supporting clients who are open to the journey of self-discovery and committed to creating positive change. Together, we will work to bring clarity, confidence, and direction to areas that once felt unclear or heavy.
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients in managing intense emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and building distress tolerance. In my practice, I incorporate DBT skills training—such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, and effective communication—to help clients achieve greater emotional balance and resilience.
I regularly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that impact their emotional well-being. In my practice, I guide clients through practical strategies to reframe negative thinking patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and make meaningful behavioral changes.
I have extensive experience using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify and build on their strengths by focusing on solutions rather than problems. In my practice, I use SFBT to guide clients toward achievable goals by exploring what’s working, amplifying past successes, and fostering hope through collaborative, goal-directed conversations.
