New to Grow
I'm so glad you are here! Having been in the very same spot you are in seeking therapy, I know how first-hand how hard it can be to take this first step. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Virginia with 10 years of experience working in clinical practice. I work with clients who experience a wide range of symptoms and concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and ADHD. I have also worked with many people who have experienced trauma and emotional abuse. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and relational therapy. I will tailor our work and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and seek to provide a safe, affirming space that meets you where you are. I also specialize in animal-assisted and nature-based outdoor therapy and although we'll meet virtually, you'll be surprised how I can help you incorporate this specific kind of healing into our work if that is of interest to you! Reach out today - I look forward to working with you!
I bring a warm, relational, and attuned presence to my sessions, offering clear communication, gentle transparency, and a collaborative approach that helps clients feel grounded and supported. My work is guided by strong self‑awareness, identity‑affirming practice, and a commitment to non‑stigmatizing care. Whether I’m working with adults, youth, or children in nature‑based settings, I show up with steadiness, curiosity, and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth.
I am looking to work with clients who are ready to explore themselves and their "stuff" and are open to curiosity about themselves and others...I am not a 'blank slate' therapist, meaning that I roll up my sleeves and "get in there," and that's what I have found my clients really resonate with. Yes, you are the driver of the work we do together, but it doesn't do anyone any good to shy away from challenging ourselves, having real talk and making progress on your goals!
I am a psychodynamic Jungian 'depth oriented' therapist and received specialized training at my graduate school for this - which basically means: this approach often feels like a gentle, curious exploration of what’s beneath the surface — not just “fixing symptoms,” but understanding what those symptoms might be trying to communicate. It’s collaborative, reflective, and focused on helping people integrate all parts of themselves so they can feel more grounded, balanced, and connected to who they truly are. I also employ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT and other modalities in response to what you bring to session. There is no one size fits all theory or treatment and I provide a lot of psychoeducation - again, in the pursuit of sharing my "toolbox" with you!
