I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Arts in Counseling at Wayland Baptist University. Currently, I am working with a consultant to become an EMDR therapist. I believe that this therapy is beneficial to individuals with trauma-related experiences. I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety, ptsd, anger issues, mood disorders, behavioral issues, self-esteem issues, schizophrenia, and depression. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I help individuals, families, and couples identify goals as well as possible solutions to issues that hinder their growth. I believe that my passion for counseling stemmed from my desire to help people at an early age. I have experience working within the community, inpatient treatment centers, and outpatient treatment centers. I have experience working with children and adolescents with autism as well as other disabilities for over seven years. I enjoy giving back to the community as well as helping others live a successful and rewarding life.
In our first session which is the intake session we will get to know each other better. It is important for you to be comfortable with me. My goal is to understand the challenges that you face in your life and your expectations for me.
When individuals are battling with depression, anxiety, and ptsd I help them to identify their triggers and ways to cope with them. It is very important to be able to change their thinking so that it improves their mental and emotional health. When an individual is suffering from self-esteem issues I work with them to identify the strengths that they have and help them to become self-aware. When my clients have experience with behavioral issues I help them to identify healthy choices and effective coping strategies that meet their situation. When my clients experience changes in their moods I work with them to identify unhealthy thought and behavior patterns. I help them to identify healthy ways to manage the moods that they experience. I help them to be able to function daily by implementing things such as a schedule and physical outlets.
I would like to work with children, adolescents, and adults. I request that I only see children who are at least nine years of age. I don't have any age limitations. I would like to work with individuals who suffer from schizophrenia, ptsd, anger issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, behavioral issues, and grief. Also, I enjoy working with couples and families.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I assist clients in identifying and challenging negative or unhelpful thought patterns. I help clients by exploring helpful resources and healthy coping strategies for themselves.

Mrs. Ford was very professional and made me feel very comfortable with speaking with her. Most of the time I will have to be feel the therapist before sharing my feelings but with her I felt like I been knowing her for years! Thank you 🙏🏾 can’t wait for my next appointment!

Latrecia listened and gave her thoughts on things that she felt needed to be said. I felt comfortable talking to her and I thank her for just listening, wish I had more time.

She is very understanding and very open minded. She’s non-judgmental and I really appreciate her time even though it’s the beginning I feel like she is going to help me a lot in my process of trying to become better.
