About me

Dear Black Woman, As Black women, we carry so much — for our families, our communities, and ourselves. Too often, our strength is expected, but our struggles are overlooked. You deserve a space where your voice is heard, your feelings are validated, and your well-being comes first. You are not “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “overthinking.” You are a woman navigating real stress, anxiety, burnout, and life changes while trying to hold it all together. But you don’t have to carry it all alone. At Black Serene, PLLC, serene represents more than just peace - it is a state of wholeness, balance, and grounded calm that Black women can reclaim and embody. Serenity here is defined as inner peace, empowerment, healing, and wholeness. Counseling offers a safe, supportive space designed for you — to rest, release, and rebuild. Here, you can process what you’re going through, explore healthier ways to cope, and step into a season where you feel lighter, calmer, and more at peace. You deserve healing. You deserve balance. You deserve joy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is all about you. Think of it as a gentle introduction — a safe space where you can exhale and share what’s been on your heart. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you here, and exploring what you’d like to get out of counseling. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out — this is simply your time to tell your story in your own words. We’ll look at the stress, anxiety, burnout, or life transitions you’re navigating, and begin setting small, realistic goals to help you find balance and relief. Most importantly, this first session is about building trust. My role is to listen, support, and create a space where you feel seen, heard, and respected — because your healing journey deserves that.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a counselor, I value humanism, which means being able to show up as a human in our session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You’ve been carrying so much — the demands of work, the pressure to “keep it together,” and the transitions life keeps placing on your path. As a Black woman, you’ve learned to push through stress, but at what cost? Burnout, exhaustion, and overwhelm don’t have to be your norm. Counseling gives you the space to pause, breathe, and refocus. Together, we’ll work on stress management tools, setting goals that align with your values, and creating a plan for balance and wellness. This is your space to release what’s heavy, find clarity in the middle of change, and prioritize your peace without guilt.
