*Note - In order to receive my updated availability, please email me at: reception+Amanda21474@growtherapy.com Welcome to a journey you’ve never experienced before, feel free to message me with any questions. I’m Amanda Rosentel, you’re here and that means you are ready for the next step, taking control of your life! I’m a big believer in setting concrete goals, creating plans and problem solving. I’ve had personal experiences with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and emotional trauma since I was a teenager. I’ve done the therapy work and continue to work on myself daily. I want to show you how to do the same! I love working with individuals (25+ y.o.), couples and parents, to create a life that is functional and empowering. You deserve to have your voice heard and learn which coping tools work and which tools don’t. We’ll weed through all the tough stuff together! When working with couples; it is so important for the couple to have a solid foundation of communication and expectations that are expressed to one another. If you are ready to do the work, I'll be here!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, what you think you want to focus on, some background questions to get to know each other better and any questions/concerns you may have. You definitely want to feel that you can open up and be comfortable with your therapist. The first session will help you to decide if you want to continue working together. I take a laid-back approach during the session; you can talk about everything and anything. Follow up sessions will be a review of how things are going, reviewing/adding coping tools/skills and any other things you want to explore. We move towards the goal 1% at a time. The most important work will be what you do in between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I will be real and authentic during our sessions, taking the time to truly listen. It definitely won’t be a stuffy interaction. No judgement, only support, I invite you to bring the real you no matter what that looks like. Even though therapy is about working through the tough stuff, there are ways to make it a little easier. I look forward to showing you how! :)

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Reprogramming your brain is possible, it's about giving your brain healthy things to absorb; for every 1 negative, 5 positives need to be mentally added. There are many ways to achieve this task. We will work on different techniques to see which fits your lifestyle the best, slowly integrating a different way of thinking. It can start with adding 1 positive reframe, and over time, changing the way you think. Also, exploring where your thoughts started, and how to work through any trauma.

Eclectic

In therapy, I pull from many different modalities, everyone is different, and needs different tools in order to move forward. Whether it's mindfulness, goal-orientated, life coaching, CBT, scientific research, childhood exploration, somatic healing, they all have their place, depending on the situation.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Problem solving situations is a great way to figure out what is going on underneath it all. We will dissect every aspect of a situation, in order to develop a plan that helps you to function better. When there is a plan, and you are more prepared for things in general, it can help to greatly reduced anxiety and fear.
