I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) located in Los Angeles, California, and I offer telehealth services to clients throughout the state. My practice serves a diverse range of clients, including adults, couples, and families, who are seeking support in various aspects of their lives. I specialize in key areas such as relational health, navigating the complexities of grief and loss, addressing medical trauma, and managing stress and anxiety.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is crucial in laying the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. I aim to establish a connection that allows me to understand you and your experiences. Once we have a clear understanding of your concerns, we can work together to explore the change processes that will lead to your healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My extensive experience collaborating with parents, caregivers, and families of children facing chronic or terminal illnesses has profoundly enhanced my ability to approach people's pain with unwavering compassion and deep connection rather than pity or fear.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I find great fulfillment in working with adults who are facing relational distress, recognizing that the quality of our relationships plays a crucial role in determining the quality of our lives. While it may not be possible to change another person in a relationship, I support my clients in evaluating how they can adjust their engagement in order to shift predictable outcomes. Many individuals who feel trapped in dilemmas that cannot be resolved through previous coping strategies—such as making compromises—or generalized approaches, like the commonly suggested “five steps to better communication,” often resonate with my method. My style is particularly effective for those who experience ambivalence towards change, as well as for individuals dealing with significant pain or challenges that seem overwhelming. This includes issues such as chronic pain, complicated grief, discrimination or minority stress, major life transitions, and end-of-life decisions.

My treatment methods

Family Therapy

I employ a systems approach to examining how our experiences are shaped by our interactions with others and our surroundings. I invite clients to explore the intricate connections between their responses to distress and conflict and the roles and messages they encountered within their family of origin. This journey can illuminate patterns and offer profound insights that foster personal growth and healing.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower clients in cultivating cognitive and psychological flexibility, enabling them to tolerate distress and manage their emotions more effectively. This approach equips individuals with essential tools to observe their thoughts and feelings impartially, avoiding being overwhelmed by them. I leverage this model to help clients uncover their core values, which serve as a guiding compass for their transformative journeys. As they build resilience against distress and enhance their emotional regulation, clients find themselves better prepared to pursue their values, even when the process of change evokes substantial discomfort.
