Kerbie Grace
My role is to serve as a vessel, creating a safe and compassionate space where you can be truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. I don’t have all the answers to life’s questions, but I will walk alongside you as you discover them for yourself. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy while integrating evidence-based interventions tailored to your unique experiences and goals. I believe you are the expert on your own life — you remain in the driver’s seat, while I serve as a guide, offering support, perspective, and practical tools along the way. The goal of this journey is not for you to need me forever. Rather, it is to help you build the confidence, insight, and resilience to continue long after I’ve stepped off at the necessary stop. Life will continue to bring challenges, and you will face them with a renewed disposition. My hope is that you leave therapy feeling empowered, equipped, and confident in your ability to navigate whatever lies ahead.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a relaxed, judgment-free environment. We’ll discuss what brought you to counseling, your current concerns, your personal history, and the goals you hope to achieve. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and support system while giving you plenty of space to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin identifying meaningful goals and develop an initial plan tailored specifically to your needs. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clearer understanding of how we can work together moving forward.
Strengths
My person-centered approach honors the simple fact that we are human. Before I am a therapist, educator, or counselor, I am a person who has experienced life’s joys, challenges, transitions, and growth. I wear many hats, and I am grateful for the life experiences that have shaped me both personally and professionally. Those experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my perspective, and continue to remind me that healing is a lifelong journey. Therefore, what you see is what you get. I believe that authentic relationships foster meaningful change, so I invite you to bring your whole, genuine self into our sessions, and I will do the same. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully yourself without fear of judgment. Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, insightful, and easy to talk to. In addition to person-centered, I combine evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral, person-centered, developmental, and strengths-based interventions with a deep respect for each client’s unique story, culture, and values. As both a practicing therapist and counselor educator, I bring clinical expertise while making complex concepts practical and easy to apply in everyday life. Together, we’ll cultivate resilience, confidence, healthier relationships, and sustainable growth that continues long after therapy ends. For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate spirituality, Christian faith, and other personal values into the counseling process, always honoring your comfort level and personal beliefs.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to invest in their personal growth, even if they don’t yet have all the answers. They may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, parenting, or simply feeling “stuck.” They don’t have to have everything figured out—they only need a willingness to show up with honesty and openness. Together, we’ll cultivate greater self-awareness, develop practical tools, and build the confidence to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, purpose, and hope.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what to do, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we build on your strengths, uncover meaningful insights, and develop practical tools that align with your values and goals, allowing you to create lasting change at your own pace.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may no longer serve you, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges. CBT is practical, collaborative, and skill-based, equipping you with tools you can continue using long after therapy ends.
