About me

I am a native of North Carolina and started my professional journey by obtaining her BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) and BA in Psychology from UNC-Charlotte and a MSW in 2009 at The University of Georgia. I have worked in a variety or social work, mental health and public education settings and opened my own private practice in 2023. As a therapist, I see my role as guide and partner- not the ultimate authority. Clients can expect honest conversation without judgement, thoughtful questions, laughter, and gentle challenges that encourage growth. The truth is we are all learning and growing, evolving into the best versions of ourselves as we navigate life. I'll meet you on the journey with compassion, curiosity, and accountability.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First sessions can seem scary, but rest assured I will do my best to ensure they are low pressure and comfortable. Typically I like to use the first session to get to know you and ultimately understand how you have arrived at where you are today seeking therapy services. This will include something I like to call a life domain audit, we'll review the major life domains (family, personal wellness, career/education, social, romantic, religion/spirituality, etc) and desire for change in these areas. The goal of the first session is to determine the presenting problem(s) and begin to determine a path towards improvement, personal success, and wholeness.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In sessions, expect to be gently challenged but also met with patience and optimism. No real change happens overnight. I believe that therapy is most successful when you are committed to the process and the pace. This work is relational, built on trust and respect, my approach allows for person centered treatment, as well as, confronting and challenging negative beliefs, behaviors, and patterns that keep us stuck. My goal isn't to tell you who to become, it's to help you uncover the version of yourself that has been there all along. The person that is confident, equipped, insightful, authentic, open, and aligned with your values.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is navigating life transitions and/or common stressors presenting in early/mid adulthood. These concerns may include relational stress, career changes, self-esteem/assurance, familial/social concerns, general anxieties and mood fluctuations related to common life challenges, etc. Clients have a goal to determine root causes of their current emotional state, uncover past traumas or other contributors to their current functioning, confront limiting beliefs and dysfunctional patterns, develop appropriate coping and relational skills, and move towards mental wellness.
