What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, we’ll go over the intake paperwork you completed and talk about what brought you to therapy. We'll talk about any current symptoms or challenges you're facing, and clarify your goals for therapy. This conversation helps me understand your experiences and begin developing a personalized treatment plan. It’s a collaborative, relaxed and supportive space where we’ll work together to figure out the best way to support you moving forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and often integrate it into my work with clients. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to emotional distress. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients gain insight into how their thoughts influence their feelings and actions. Together, we work on developing more balanced thinking, practicing coping strategies, and building healthier habits. It’s a collaborative process, and I tailor CBT tools to fit each client’s unique goals and experiences.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have experience using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present, open, and engaged with life, even in the face of difficult thoughts or emotions. In my practice, I use ACT to help clients identify what truly matters to them (their values), and then take committed action aligned with those values, even when internal struggles show up. We work on developing mindfulness skills, recognizing unhelpful thought patterns without getting stuck in them, and learning how to respond to challenges in a way that supports growth rather than avoidance. ACT is especially helpful for anxiety, depression, and life transitions, but its tools can support anyone looking to live a more meaningful, values-driven life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have experience using Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT), which is a goal-oriented, strengths-based approach that helps clients focus on what’s working and how to build on those successes. In my practice, I use SFBT to help clients identify their strengths, set clear and achievable goals, and explore practical steps toward creating the changes they want. Rather than spending a lot of time analyzing problems, we focus on solutions—what’s going well, what’s already helping, and how we can do more of that. It’s a collaborative and empowering method that supports clients in making meaningful progress, often in a relatively short time.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have experience using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with individuals who are navigating intense emotions, relationship challenges, or patterns of impulsive behavior. DBT is especially helpful for clients struggling with emotion regulation, self-harm, or symptoms related to borderline personality disorder, though its tools can benefit anyone. In my practice, I use DBT both as a structured framework and a flexible set of skills tailored to your needs. I incorporate core DBT components like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Depending on your goals, we may focus on building skills to stay grounded during emotional moments, communicate more effectively, or develop healthier ways to cope with stress. I aim to create a validating, nonjudgmental space while also gently challenging patterns that may no longer serve you.

Supportive

Supportive therapy is a foundational approach I often integrate into my work, especially when clients need a safe, nonjudgmental space to process their emotions and experiences. My experience with this method includes using it to help clients build self-esteem, strengthen coping skills, and navigate life transitions or ongoing stress. In practice, I use supportive therapy to validate your feelings, provide encouragement, and help you feel understood and empowered. It’s a collaborative, relationship-focused method that allows us to move at your pace while creating a steady base to help you heal and grow.
