Giuseppe "Joe" Moro
Welcome to my Grow Therapy profile page. My name is Dr. Giuseppe Moro, DC, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC. My first name can sometimes be a bit of a tongue twister, so please feel free to call me Joe if you'd like, or Dr. Moro — whichever is easier and more comfortable for you. I have a unique interdisciplinary background spanning psychiatry, family medicine, chiropractic medicine, K-12 special education, and higher education. My practice focuses on helping adults and older adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress-related conditions, insomnia, trauma-related stress, adjustment difficulties, burnout, and life-transition challenges in a supportive, practical, and collaborative outpatient telehealth environment. In addition to clinical practice, I currently serve as nursing faculty teaching psychiatric nursing and advanced health assessment to nursing and nurse practitioner students.
Starting my healthcare career as a chiropractor allows me to integrate natural remedies and holistic strategies into your treatment plan while managing medications effectively.
I am originally from upstate New York. I moved to the West Coast 25 years ago for graduate school, and I have been on the West Coast ever since. I lived in E. Hollywood for 22 years in an artistic community called Los Feliz, which is near the Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Hills before eventually relocating to Las Vegas. I was raised in a traditional Italian-speaking Catholic family, so I appreciate the important role that family, culture, spirituality, personal values, and meaningful relationships play in emotional wellness.
First session
My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and judgment-free. In my experience, patients do best when they feel comfortable and respected. During our first session, we'll discuss your concerns, symptoms, stressors, or life challenges that brought you to seek care. Also, depending on your goals and needs, we may also discuss medications.
Strengths
One of my strengths is my background. My background spans psychiatry, family medicine, advanced practice nursing, chiropractic medicine, behavioral health, K-12 special education, and higher education, which allows me to take a broad and integrative view of your emotional wellbeing, stress, sleep, physical health, lifestyle habits, and overall functioning. Another strength is my ability to facilitate meaningful and therapeutic treatment visit. I excel working with motivated adults seeking practical support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress-related conditions, insomnia, trauma-related stress, adjustment difficulties, burnout, relationship stress, work-related stress, and major life transitions. I strive to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, understood, and supported. I want our appointments to feel human and relatable rather than overly clinical or rushed. I will take time to listen to you carefully, explain things clearly, and I always approach treatment in a thoughtful manner.
Ideal clients
My practice is designed for adults seeking outpatient telepsychiatry and telepsychotherapy for ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, adjustment disorders, stress-related concerns, relationship concerns, and school or work performance issues. Many of my patients are professionals, entertainers, healthcare workers, students, caregivers, and others balancing demanding personal, professional, and family responsibilities while experiencing stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, sleep difficulties, or burnout. My goal is to provide safe, appropriate, and effective care tailored to your individual needs. My practice is intended for individuals who can be safely treated through outpatient telehealth. Those experiencing a psychiatric emergency, active psychosis, mania, or requiring a higher level of psychiatric care may be better served by an in-person psychiatrist or more intensive treatment program. Before You Schedule: I prescribe controlled medications via telehealth when clinically appropriate; however, my practice is designed to manage no more than one controlled medication at a time. If another healthcare provider already prescribes you a controlled medication, I generally will not prescribe an additional controlled medication. If you are seeking a new provider to assume management of your single controlled medication, I am happy to evaluate whether my practice is an appropriate fit. Also, please note that messages and portal communications are not continuously monitored and should not be used for emergencies. This practice does not provide crisis services. For a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than waiting for a response through the platform.
