New to Grow
Welcome. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I’m glad you’re here. I am a psychotherapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the everyday stresses that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I work closely with each client to understand their unique experiences, goals, values, and strengths. I strive to create an open-minded, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions, relationships, questions of identity, family dynamics, spirituality, and personal growth. I view vulnerability as a strength and believe meaningful change begins when we feel safe enough to be honest with ourselves and others. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply looking to better understand yourself, I look forward to helping you build insight, resilience, and a greater sense of fulfillment in your life.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust and connection. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will ask questions about your background, relationships, family, work, and other important aspects of your life to better understand your experiences and the factors that may be contributing to your concerns. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward.
I believe that therapy can be both meaningful and approachable. While we may explore difficult experiences, painful emotions, and complex challenges, I don't believe every session has to feel heavy. Humor, when appropriate, can be a powerful tool for building connection, gaining perspective, and helping us navigate life's struggles. I bring curiosity, authenticity, and flexibility to my work, adapting my approach to each client's unique needs and goals. I am able to balance empathy with honest feedback, helping clients deepen their self-understanding while also making practical changes in their lives. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, whether that means processing grief, working through anxiety, celebrating successes, or even finding moments of laughter along the way.
I am best positioned to work with adults who are navigating life’s transitions, whether that means changes in relationships, parenthood, caregiving, aging, career shifts, loss, or questions about identity and purpose. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, isolated, or emotionally exhausted from carrying so much for so many. Together, we create a space to better understand what’s getting in the way, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. I also have extensive experience working with older adults, caregivers, Holocaust survivors and their families, and individuals coping with trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. For clients who wish to incorporate faith, spirituality, or religious values into our work, I welcome those conversations. As a lifelong musician, I also appreciate the role that creativity, music, and self-expression can play in healing, connection, and personal growth. My clients are often thoughtful, self-reflective people who are looking not only for symptom relief, but for deeper understanding, growth, and meaningful change.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck, and work to develop healthier ways of coping. My goal is to help you gain practical tools that you can use in your everyday life while creating lasting change.
Psychodynamic
Sometimes the experiences, relationships, and messages we internalized years ago continue to shape how we see ourselves and interact with others today. Through a psychodynamic approach, we’ll explore these patterns together, helping you gain deeper insight, self-awareness, and understanding. By making sense of the past, we can create more freedom and choice in the present.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Your culture, background, family experiences, faith, and identity are important parts of who you are. Together, we’ll create a space where all aspects of your story are welcomed and respected. I strive to understand your unique experiences and incorporate them into our work so that therapy feels relevant, meaningful, and aligned with your values.
Couples Counseling
Relationships can be incredibly rewarding, but they can also be challenging. In couples counseling, we’ll work together to improve communication, navigate conflict, strengthen emotional connection, and better understand one another’s perspectives. My role is to help create a space where both partners feel heard, understood, and supported as we work toward healthier patterns and a stronger relationship.
Faith based therapy
For many people, faith and spirituality are important sources of strength, meaning, and comfort. If faith is important to you, we can incorporate your beliefs and values into our work together. Whether you’re seeking guidance through a difficult season, exploring questions of meaning and purpose, or looking to align your mental health journey with your spiritual values, we’ll approach these conversations with openness and respect.
