Has your sense of safety and security been compromised by trauma or adverse childhood experiences? Or perhaps lately you have been feeling “off” and are unsure what is wrong. Whether the issue you are experiencing is big or small, my objective is to create a safe space where we can collaborate to resolve any obstacles in the way of living the life you want. I specialize in working with individuals who have lived through traumatic experiences and/or struggle with depression, anxiety, stress or chronic pain that affects their well-being. I utilize a client-focused approach, as I believe you are the expert in your life, as well as integrate mindfulness and relaxation techniques to calm the nervous system and help you gain control of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In our sessions together I will meet you where you are at with unconditional positive regard and empathetic understanding. I look forward to working together to reach your goals!

I’ve been working with her for 2 1/2 years. She has not only got me through my sex addiction. She’s also helped me through alcoholism and codependency. She’s also taught me how to navigate around my bipolar disorder as well as how to work on calming myself down. I wouldn’t be here without her.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize ACT in my practice by building rapport with clients, exploring their current mental health state, exploring and defining their core values, determining necessary action steps/goals to work towards, and focusing on committing to those actions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as how thoughts and core beliefs create their reality, and how to reframe that thinking to create change.

EMDR

I utilize EMDR Therapy with clients to transform maladaptively stored memory networks into adaptive information in order to increase the ability to respond appropriately to present day situations, incorporate needed skills, behaviors, and adaptive beliefs about self and others, achieve the most effective and efficient treatment effects while maintaining stability and safety.

Trauma Informed Care

As a trauma-informed therapist I make sure to be up-to-date in research and best practices for working with clients who have experienced trauma. I make sure to tailor interventions in the context of the individual’s trauma history, triggers, and specific needs. I also guide clients into understanding their trauma and the impact it has had on their behavior and ability to regulate emotions without judgement. I strive to help clients become empowered and tap into their unique strengths and resiliency.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT to help clients who struggle with relationships and emotional regulation. Through DBT I teach clients how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others
